THE NIKE X DOERNBECHER FREESTYLE COLLECTION WILL ALSO FEATURE THIS COOL VAPORMAX
The Nike brand like most of us understands just how precious and important kids are and even more special are kids battling one terminal disease or another(i mean a ton of adults are completely broken down by these diseases so you can imagine what these little babies must be going through, #wipesawayatear ).
the Doernbecher freestyle project is a very special project which is very close to the Nike brand's heart and I am quite sure it's projects like these that has also kept the Nike brand very close to our hearts also.the Doernbecher project was launched over 14 years ago by Nike x the OHSU Doernbecher children's hospital to raise well deserve money for the effective running of the said hospital.
the project, in a nutshell, features young designers who are/were patients in the children's hospital ages 8 to 15 nominated by the doctors,nurses and the rest of the hospital staff to work hand in hand with popular Nike sneaker models and with the help of professional development teams to totally revamp these shoe models and Nike apparel in general ,bringing them back to life in a picture seen through the eyes of these extraordinary kids.these sneaker and apparel collection are then made available later in the year for purchase and all the money realized from this endeavor is donated to the children's hospital, to make available needed high tech equipment, cover clinical care costs, fund research in the direction of children's health and a host of other stuff.
before now, we had been updated on the air Jordan 12 and Nike air more uptempo being featured in this year's freestyle collection and now the very awesome vapormax will be joining the line up (the very best for our kids say!) and a sample was teased on Instagram not too long ago.this really sweet look was designed by 15-year-old Andrew merydith a patient at the children's hospital, who is suffering from cystic fibrosis (my heart cant take this, smh!) and the bright royal blue/neon lime color of the upper was inspired by his favorite football team the Seattle hawks.the vapormax also features purple laces, printed detailing that reads #Ilovethefam and his initials A.M.
all we have right now in term of photos and release details are very limited but sources say the official unveiling and auctioning of the Nike x Doernbecher freestyle xiv collection will take place on the 27th of October 2017 at the Portland art museum, a photo below and also do check out other colorful vapormax releases from early this year HERE and HERE
